Pasting FAQ

This page is intended to answer questions about pasting Guestbook Depot guestbooks. If you would like information on another subject, please click on one of the links to the left.

How do I paste a guestbook?

There is a great page illustrating pasting HTML code into a page at the pasting help page. It is intended to illustrate how to paste an access counter, but the steps are exactly the same.

I tried pasting my code, and I was able to see the code when I loaded my page instead of the guestbook links. What did I do wrong?

The code must be pasted using a text editor. Since this happened, you most probably used an HTML editor which allows you to write HTML pages without knowing how to write HTML. On Windows 95 systems, Notepad is a good tool for the job. On the Macintosh, Simple Text seems to do nicely, and on UNIX systems such as Linux, pico, vi, nedit, or any number of other available editors will work well.

What should show up on my page when I have properly pasted my guestbook?

Three links should show up on your page after you have properly pasted the guestbook. They will allow people to view and sign your guestbook, as well as get their own free guestbook.
