What is a guestbook?
The easiest way to think of a guestbook is as a web page on which your viewers can leave comments. You can link to a guestbook so that it looks as though it is a part of your site. If you would like to see a guestbook in action, please see our demo guestbook.
Why should I use a Guestbook Depot guestbook?
Although you may be able to convince your Internet provider to allow you to install a guestbook program on his or her server, you still need to go through the trouble of installing the program. This installation can often be complex, and it is usually more trouble than it is worth. Most Internet providers don't provide the necessary access to their machines anyway. Guestbook Depot guestbooks are both secure and easy to configure. To install a Guestbook Depot guestbook, you simply cut and paste some HTML code. This is considerably easier.
How much does a Guestbook Depot guestbook cost?
Since our guestbooks are supported by sponsors who advertise at the top and bottom of the guestbooks, there is no cost to you.
How do I get a guestbook?
Simply click on the link at the top of this page that says "Free Sign-Up." If you are using a text only browser, we have provided links at the bottom of the page for you. After following the link, simply fill in the information in the sign-up form and paste the code you are given into your page. Instructions for pasting code are available at the pasting help page. This well illustrated page is intended to show you how to paste the code for a page counter, but the steps are exactly the same for a guestbook.
My guestbook seems to be coming up slowly. Why?
Although the Guestbook Depot server and its lines are not heavily loaded down, the same cannot be said for the rest of the Internet. If our server appears to be working slowly, it is probably due to high traffic on the Internet between you and our server.
Do you offer tech support?
Unfortunately, I have lost one of my jobs as a result of the downturn of the tech market. At this time, I need to focus my efforts on projects that can immediately make money. I hope eventually to create a subscription based system with support, but I cannot offer support at this time. I do plan to continue to offer the free service for the foreseeable future.
